Mulato chillies are dark and are a bit sweet, it has flavours of chocolate or liquorice, with hints of cherry and coffee. Mulato chili is a dried Poblano chili.
It can also be ground into a chili powder. It can be used to add low to moderate heat to your dish, with a Scoville heat rating (SHU) of 2500-3000 it is not overly spicy.
